How to find healthier alternatives to a product
A score is more useful when it comes with an option. That's what the alternatives on each product page are for.
How alternatives are chosen
- Same category — cereal for cereal, peanut butter for peanut butter.
- At least 10 points higher than the product you scanned, and at least a Good score.
- Compatible with your diet and allergy preferences, if you've set any.
- Best scores first, without duplicates.
Use them
- Scan a product and scroll to the alternatives on its page.
- Tap one to see its full score and reasons.
- Star it to find it again, and scan it in the store to double-check.
Free vs. PRO
Everyone sees up to three alternatives per product. Novaz PRO shows up to ten.
FAQ
- Why don't I see any alternatives?
- Either nothing in the same category scores enough higher, or the product already scores well. Very specific categories can also have few products in the database.
