How to set up diet and allergy alerts
Checking every label for the same thing gets old fast. Diet and allergy alerts do it for you on every scan.
The preferences you can set
- Gluten-free
- Lactose-free
- Palm-oil-free
- Vegan
- Vegetarian
- Peanut-free
- Tree-nut-free
- Soy-free
- Egg-free
Turn them on
- Open Novaz, go to the Profile tab and tap Diet preferences.
- Choose the diets and allergens that apply to you.
- Scan as usual — a product that conflicts shows a warning, and alternatives skip products that don't fit.
Know the limits
Alerts use the ingredient and allergen data recorded for each product, which can be incomplete or out of date. If you have a food allergy, always read the allergen statement on the package — a missing alert doesn't mean a product is safe for you.
